Company History

Associated Medical Supplies Company Limited (AMS) was incorporated in Hong Kong on 23rd August, 1985. It is a continuation of Associated Medical Supplies Company, a partnership formed in August, 1981 comprised of 5 partners and has been directed by the Managing Partner, Sydney Chien. Sydney brought to AMS his 18-year experience in distributing pharmaceutical products, parenteral nutrition, dialysis systems, blood and blood bank products etc working for Upjohn (USA), Kabi Vitrum (Sweden) and Baxter Travenol (USA).

On its inception AMS acted as exclusive agent for Gambro AB, Sweden for Hong Kong, Macao and China. AMS built up Gambro's business and acquired over 60% market share in hemodialysis field in Hong Kong and China. In its early days AMS also acted as exclusive agents for Pharmacia AB (Sweden), Dornier Medizintechnik GmbH (Germany) and other principals in the Greater China region.

AMS is one of the Hong Kong Government registered medical suppliers of all kinds of medical products to government hospitals, laboratories, other medical institutions and nursing homes in Hong Kong.

In the wake of rapidly increasing demand in “silver hair market” in recent years, AMS gradually introduced more innovative rehabilitation and nursing products as well as smart aging technology products to address the needs of the older people. We hope to lead healthy, quality and enjoyable lives to those retired in Golden Age.

Since 2006, AMS has been accredited to ISO 9001 Certification in quality management.

1984	Introduce non-invasive extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) device
1991	Introduce X-Knife (Stereotactic Radiosurgery)
1995	Introduce a full range of medical reference instruments to ensure quality and safety
1996	Introduce extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) device
2000	Commissioning blood plasma protein fractionation with Swedish technology
2010	Jointly develop Chinese herbal medicine Olive Branch 1 (OB1) with Charm Grace Ltd.
2017	Introduce the non-contact, non-constricting bedside safety monitoring system with artificial intelligence
2019	Introduce the Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS®) system for the stimulation of brain regions in patients with Alzheimer's disease

Celebrating its 30th anniversary in July 2011, the founders of Associated Medical Supplies Company Limited had a lot of valuable experience to share with invited guests and friends. With dedicated mission to serve the medical professionals, healthcare sector, patients and other stakeholders in the community, the Company has connected with an increasing number of distinguished manufacturers round the world, many from the U.S.A. and Europe, to supply niche products which can improve the quality of healthcare.

In November 2018, Associated Medical Supplies Company Limited participated in the "Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES)" for the first time to showcase various equipments and technologies for smart home and elderly aids. Thanks for the overwhelming responses, we are happy to receive feedbacks from many visitors that they had learned a lot of in our booth to help them support the needs of the elderly at home.
